ALS Walk
On April 10 I'm participating in a walk to raise money for ALS in the Heartland. ALS (more commonly referred to as Lou Gehrig's disease) is a motor neuron disease causing progressive paralysis. There is no current definitive explanation of the cause, no known preventative measure, and no known cure.
ALS in the Heartland is a non-profit organization that provides free, individualized services and support to ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) patients, their families, and caregivers residing in all of Nebraska and western Iowa. Their services include in-home support, education and therapy, an equipment loan program, community support groups, advocacy and research efforts, and a respite care voucher program. If you're going to be in Omaha that weekend, you are welcome to walk with me! If you are interested in donating money online, you can do that with your credit card by clicking here. Donations are secure and go directly to ALS in the Heartland, and you will get a reciept for your donation.
